Job Description
Join ATCO as a Trainee Energy Efficiency Home Auditor and embark on a rewarding career helping residents make their homes more energy-efficient. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to learn about energy conservation and home performance. You will receive comprehensive training to assess residential properties, identify areas for improvement, and educate homeowners on energy-saving practices. This role involves significant local travel within Whitecourt and surrounding areas, for which a company vehicle will be provided. No prior experience is required; we are looking for motivated individuals with a strong work ethic and a commitment to customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete an intensive training program covering energy auditing techniques, building science, and safety protocols.
- Conduct on-site energy audits of residential homes, performing diagnostic tests and visual inspections.
- Utilize specialized equipment to identify air leaks, insulation deficiencies, and other energy inefficiencies.
- Document findings accurately and prepare clear, concise audit reports.
- Educate homeowners on recommended energy efficiency upgrades and available rebate programs.
- Maintain company vehicle and equipment in good working order.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with senior auditors and team members to continuously improve service delivery.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a schedule effectively.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.
- A keen interest in environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as climbing ladders, entering crawl spaces, and lifting equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., trades, environmental science, construction).
- Customer service experience.
- Basic knowledge of residential construction or HVAC systems.
- Safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS).
