Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Shopify Developer to join our growing team in Sarnia. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, customizing, and optimizing e-commerce solutions for our diverse client base using the Shopify platform. You’ll work on everything from theme development and custom app integrations to performance tuning and API interactions, ensuring seamless and engaging user experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement custom Shopify themes and templates using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Integrate third-party applications and APIs to extend Shopify functionality.
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to translate UI/UX designs into functional, high-performance Shopify stores.
- Optimize website speed and performance for various devices and browsers.
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing Shopify stores.
- Stay updated with the latest Shopify features, industry trends, and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Shopify Developer.
- Proficiency in Shopify Liquid templating language.
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS/Sass), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Shopify APIs (Storefront API, Admin API) and webhooks.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with React, Vue.js, or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Knowledge of Headless Shopify architectures (e.g., using Hydrogen).
- Experience with popular Shopify apps and their integration.
- Understanding of SEO best practices for e-commerce.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
