Job Description
Are you a highly skilled language professional looking for a flexible, remote opportunity? Lionbridge is seeking talented Remote Language Translators to join our global network. In this role, you will be responsible for translating a variety of documents from one or more source languages into your native target language, ensuring accuracy, cultural relevance, and linguistic quality. This is a 100% remote, project-based contract position that allows you to work at your own pace, providing flexibility to balance work with personal commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate diverse content types (e.g., technical, marketing, legal, general) accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain linguistic quality, stylistic consistency, and cultural appropriateness across all translations.
- Adhere to project-specific glossaries, style guides, and client instructions.
- Utilize CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools effectively to ensure consistency and productivity.
- Perform self-review and quality assurance checks on all translated materials.
- Meet agreed-upon deadlines for project delivery.
- Collaborate with project managers and linguistic quality assurance teams as needed.
Required Skills
- Native fluency in the target language (e.g., English, German, French, Spanish).
- Exceptional written communication skills in the target language.
- Advanced proficiency in at least one source language (e.g., English, German, French, Spanish).
- Proven ability to conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy of terminology and context.
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and linguistic differences.
- Proficiency in using CAT tools (e.g., Trados Studio, memoQ, Phrase TMS).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Modern Languages, or a related field.
- Certification in translation from a recognized institution (e.g., ITI, ATA).
- Specialization in specific industry domains (e.g., IT, medical, legal, finance, marketing).
- Experience with translation memory management and terminology databases.
- Familiarity with various content management systems.
