Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Post Office Clerk to join our team in Aberdeen. In this role, you will be the front line of our service, assisting customers with a variety of postal needs, processing transactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of our post office. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities
- Process mail and parcel transactions, including weighing, calculating postage, and ensuring correct labeling.
- Handle financial transactions such as money orders, foreign currency exchange, and bill payments.
- Assist customers with inquiries regarding postal services, products, and tracking.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and manage daily cash reconciliation.
- Ensure the post office counter is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary forms and supplies.
- Handle customer complaints and provide effective solutions in a professional manner.
- Promote and sell additional postal products and services to customers.
- Adhere to all security procedures and company policies.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and cash handling.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 20kg).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment.
- Familiarity with postal services and regulations.
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
