Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Polymer Chemist with a strong background in material science to join our dynamic R&D team. This role is crucial for advancing our capabilities in developing novel polymer systems for cutting-edge applications, ranging from semiconductor manufacturing to sustainable energy solutions. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of new polymeric materials, contributing significantly to our innovative projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and synthesize novel polymers and polymeric composites with tailored properties for specific applications.
- Conduct comprehensive material characterization using various analytical techniques (e.g., GPC, NMR, FTIR, DSC, TGA, SEM, TEM, mechanical testing).
- Develop and optimize polymerization processes and material formulation methodologies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, material scientists, and product development teams.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare detailed technical reports and presentations.
- Stay abreast of new developments in polymer science, material science, and related fields to identify innovative opportunities.
- Ensure all experimental work adheres to safety protocols and quality standards.
Required Skills
- PhD or Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in polymer synthesis and characterization techniques.
- Strong understanding of polymer structure-property relationships.
- Proficiency with analytical instrumentation relevant to polymer and material science.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of industrial R&D experience in polymer chemistry or material science, preferably in advanced manufacturing or sustainable technologies.
- Experience with computational chemistry or polymer modeling.
- Familiarity with intellectual property development (patent applications, disclosures).
- Knowledge of advanced polymeric materials such as block copolymers, conductive polymers, or biodegradable polymers.
- Experience in scaling up laboratory-developed processes to pilot or production scale.
