Job Description
Are you passionate about helping people see clearly and look great? Specsavers in Jesmond is offering an exciting internship opportunity for an ‘Optical Dispenser Intern – Retail & Clinical Mix’. This role is perfect for individuals looking to kick-start their career in optics, providing a unique blend of hands-on retail experience and clinical exposure. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning the intricacies of optical dispensing, customer service, and the clinical aspects of eye care. This internship is designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of the optical industry, equipping you with valuable skills and knowledge for your future career.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified Optical Dispensers with frame selection and fitting for customers.
- Learn to take accurate measurements for spectacles, including pupillary distance and optical centres.
- Understand and explain various lens types, coatings, and their benefits to customers.
- Support the front desk operations, including appointment scheduling and patient registration.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the retail area and dispensing rooms.
- Observe and participate in pre-screening tests and other clinical support tasks.
- Process orders, manage stock, and assist with inventory control.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing queries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.
