Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join our corporate health team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a corporate office setting, focusing on employee well-being and health promotion without weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive occupational health services, including health assessments, case management, health education, and emergency response, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all employees. This role requires a proactive approach to health management and a strong commitment to fostering a culture of wellness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-employment health screenings, periodic health assessments, and return-to-work evaluations.
  • Provide first aid and emergency care for occupational injuries and illnesses, coordinating with external medical facilities as needed.
  • Manage workers' compensation cases, including documentation, communication with employees, and liaison with medical providers and claims adjusters.
  • Implement and manage health surveillance programs for employees in various roles.
  • Develop and deliver health education programs and wellness initiatives to promote a healthy workforce.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR, Safety, and other departments to identify and mitigate workplace health risks.
  • Participate in the development and review of occupational health policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the management of FMLA and short-term disability cases from a health perspective.

Required Skills

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in occupational health, emergency, or critical care.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation laws, and HIPAA privacy rules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S) certification.
  • Experience with corporate wellness program development and implementation.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
