Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and professional Class A Day Cab Drivers to join our Schaumburg, IL team. This role offers consistent local routes, ensuring you are home every night, eliminating the need for over-the-road travel or overnight stays. As a Class A Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight within a defined service area, adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers looking for a stable schedule and a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle safely and efficiently on local routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Load and unload freight as required, ensuring proper securing and handling.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs and records, including Hours of Service (HOS).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and pickups.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage immediately.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable Class A driving experience
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LTL freight operations
- Hazardous Materials (X) endorsement
- Forklift certification or experience
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
