Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Content Moderator to join our Microsoft Gaming team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for reviewing user-generated content across various Xbox and Microsoft Gaming platforms to ensure compliance with our community guidelines, terms of service, and legal requirements. Your primary focus will be on maintaining a safe and positive environment for all players, identifying and actioning inappropriate content, and contributing to the overall integrity of our gaming communities. This role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to protecting our players.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively review user-generated content, including text, images, video, and audio, submitted to Microsoft Gaming platforms.
- Identify and take appropriate action on content that violates community guidelines, terms of service, or legal standards.
- Accurately categorize and tag content for further review or policy enforcement.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including policy, legal, and engineering, to improve content moderation tools and guidelines.
- Stay informed about current trends in online content and potential risks to gaming communities.
- Contribute to training materials and best practices for content moderation processes.
- Handle sensitive and potentially disturbing content with professionalism and resilience.
- Provide constructive feedback on content policy and tool improvements.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound, objective judgments under pressure.
- High level of empathy and understanding of diverse user experiences.
- Proficiency with standard office software and ability to learn new moderation tools quickly.

- Strong ethical compass and commitment to maintaining online safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in content moderation, trust and safety, or online community management.
- Familiarity with Xbox or other Microsoft Gaming platforms and services.
- Understanding of gaming culture and online community dynamics.
- Experience with various content management systems or moderation platforms.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
