Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Network Protection team at Netflix. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about cybersecurity, particularly network defense, who are eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst, you will play a crucial role in monitoring, detecting, and responding to network-related security incidents, helping to safeguard Netflix’s global infrastructure and data against evolving threats. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge security technologies and incident response methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network security systems and alerts for potential threats and anomalies.
- Perform initial triage and analysis of security incidents related to network infrastructure.
- Assist in the investigation and containment of network security breaches.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of network security monitoring tools and processes.
- Document security incidents, findings, and remediation steps.
- Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing efforts.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Collaborate with senior analysts and other teams to enhance overall security posture.
- Support the implementation and enforcement of network security policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and principles
- Knowledge of common attack vectors and mitigation strategies
- Experience with operating systems like Linux, Windows, and macOS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security)
- Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) tools
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
- Basic understanding of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Prior internship or academic project experience in cybersecurity
