Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Central Fill Pharmacy Technician to join our high-volume production team in New Port Richey, Florida. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently filling prescription orders using automated dispensing systems and maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong work ethic, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to precision in a fast-paced environment. Your contribution will directly impact our ability to deliver essential medications to patients across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain automated dispensing equipment for high-volume prescription filling.
- Perform accurate counting, pouring, mixing, and labeling of prescription medications.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on all filled prescriptions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage and organize inventory, including receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies.
- Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot minor issues, and report larger problems to maintenance.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with other pharmacy duties as assigned by the Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician license/registration or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a high-volume or production setting
- Proficiency with automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer literacy
Preferred Qualifications
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
- Experience in a central fill pharmacy setting
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical inventory management best practices
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma principles in a production environment
