Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Marine Architecture & Boat Building Intern to join our dynamic team at a leading shipyard in Stirling. This internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design, construction, repair, and maintenance of marine vessels. You will work alongside experienced marine architects, engineers, and skilled tradespeople, contributing to real-world projects and developing a comprehensive understanding of the shipbuilding industry. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates passionate about marine engineering and eager to kickstart their career in a practical, challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior marine architects and engineers in the development of design specifications, drawings, and calculations for various marine projects.
- Support the drafting and modeling processes using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino), ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in shipyard operations, observing and assisting with the construction, outfitting, repair, and maintenance of vessels.
- Conduct research on marine systems, materials, and innovative building techniques to support project feasibility studies.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal project reviews.
- Adhere strictly to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations within the shipyard.
- Contribute to problem-solving and troubleshooting issues that arise during design or construction phases.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Marine Architecture, Naval Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for the marine industry and a keen interest in shipbuilding processes.

- Previous experience with marine-specific design software.
