Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Loading Bay Operative to join our night shift team in Oakville, Ontario, for an immediate start. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of goods within our busy loading bay, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of products. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload trucks, containers, and trailers using appropriate equipment.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against manifests and other documentation for accuracy.
- Organize and stack goods in designated areas, ensuring proper storage and accessibility.
- Operate various material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and potentially forklifts (training provided if needed).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the loading bay.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to working night shifts and an immediate start.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety practices.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Oakville facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or loading bay environment is an asset.
- Valid forklift operator certification (reach truck, counterbalance) is a strong advantage.
- Experience with inventory management systems or scanners.
