Job Description
Are you a native or highly fluent English speaker with a passion for helping others practice their language skills? Preply is looking for enthusiastic Virtual English Conversational Partners to join our vibrant global community. This is a unique opportunity to work remotely, set your own hours, and connect with learners from various backgrounds who are eager to improve their English conversational abilities. No teaching degree or prior experience is required – just your excellent English skills and a friendly, patient demeanor.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and interactive online English conversation sessions via video chat.
- Provide a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere for learners to practice their spoken English.
- Engage in discussions on a wide range of topics, catering to learner interests and needs.
- Listen actively and provide constructive feedback on pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar as appropriate or requested.
- Help learners build confidence and fluency in everyday English communication.
- Manage your own schedule and availability through the Preply platform.
Required Skills
- Native or near-native fluency in English (C2 level).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a friendly demeanor.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet space for online sessions.
- Comfortable using video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Skype).
- Ability to engage with diverse learners and adapt to different proficiency levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in informal tutoring, mentoring, or language exchange.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms or teaching tools.
- Ability to converse on a broad spectrum of subjects, including current events, culture, travel, and more.
- A genuine interest in different cultures and global communication.
