Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Leisure Centre Assistant to join our vibrant team at the Ashford Leisure Centre. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals passionate about health, fitness, and providing excellent service. You will be instrumental in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all our visitors, supporting the day-to-day operations across various areas of the centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, assisting visitors with inquiries, bookings, and facility usage.
  • Supervise swimming pools and other activity areas to ensure the safety and well-being of all users.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the centre, including changing rooms, gym, and pool areas.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment for various activities and events.
  • Assist with lifeguarding duties, including regular pool observations and emergency response, if qualified.
  • Support the management team in daily operational tasks and administrative duties.
  • Promote centre activities, memberships, and programs to visitors.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Respond to first aid incidents and emergencies as required.

  • Basic understanding of health and safety principles.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service or leisure environment.
  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or willingness to obtain one.
  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Knowledge of leisure centre operations and equipment.
