Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Leisure Centre Assistant and play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all our visitors. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to contribute to the daily operations of a busy leisure centre, supporting various activities and ensuring exceptional customer service. You will be on the front line, assisting with facility setup, ensuring safety standards are met, and helping our community stay active and healthy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting visitors and assisting with inquiries.
- Monitor facility areas, including pool sides, gym floors, and changing rooms, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment for various sports and activities.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times, including emergency procedures.
- Perform general cleaning duties to maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the centre.
- Administer basic first aid if required (training provided).
- Support the operational team in daily tasks to ensure smooth running of the centre.
- Engage with members and visitors, fostering a welcoming and positive atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of health and safety principles.
- Willingness to learn and undertake training (e.g., First Aid, Lifeguard qualification if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or leisure environment.
- Valid First Aid certificate.
- NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) – desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
