Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Honolulu. This is a pivotal management opportunity for a dedicated professional ready to take on leadership responsibilities within a fast-paced pharmacy environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our pharmacy, leading a team of technicians, and delivering superior patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and train pharmacy technicians, ensuring adherence to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations.
- Oversee the accurate and efficient dispensing of prescription medications, including data entry, packaging, and labeling.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and returning pharmaceuticals.
- Assist pharmacists with patient consultations, medication dispensing, and clinical services.
- Handle complex customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy operations and patient safety.
- Prepare compounding medications as required, following established protocols.
- Ensure the pharmacy maintains a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
Required Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification (PTCB or NHA)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a pharmacy setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field
- Advanced pharmacy technician certifications (e.g., sterile compounding, immunization administration)
- Experience with Walgreens pharmacy systems (RxConnect, Intercom Plus)
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members
