Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated K-12 Music Teacher to join our esteemed faculty in Wesley Chapel, Florida. This full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity to shape musical talent, cultivate an appreciation for the arts, and foster creative expression in students across all grade levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a dynamic music curriculum, leading various musical ensembles, and contributing to the vibrant artistic culture of our schools. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging music lessons for K-12 students, aligning with state standards and district curriculum goals.
  • Instruct students in foundational music theory, vocal techniques, instrumental skills, and music appreciation.
  • Organize and direct school choirs, bands, orchestras, or other musical ensembles, preparing students for performances.
  • Plan and execute student concerts, recitals, and other performance opportunities both within the school and the community.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their musical development.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate music into interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to musical learning.
  • Manage and maintain musical instruments, equipment, and classroom resources.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding student progress and school events.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Music (K-12).
  • Proficiency in teaching a variety of musical instruments and vocal techniques.
  • Strong understanding of music theory, history, and different musical genres.
  • Ability to effectively manage a classroom and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in directing student musical ensembles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Music Education.
  • Prior experience teaching music in a K-12 setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
  • Experience with music technology and digital music production tools.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish).
