Job Description

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for technology and a drive to innovate? Microsoft’s Associate Product Manager (APM) New Graduate Program is designed to cultivate the next generation of product leaders. This immersive program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product management across various Microsoft products and services. You’ll work alongside world-class engineers, designers, and business leaders, contributing to products that impact millions globally. As an APM, you’ll rotate through different product teams, tackling real-world challenges, defining product roadmaps, and bringing innovative solutions to life. This hybrid role based in Akron, OH, offers the best of both collaborative office environments and flexible remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Translate user needs into detailed product requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and marketing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Assist in defining product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Participate in user testing, gather feedback, and iterate on product features.
  • Monitor product performance, analyze data, and propose improvements.
  • Present product updates and recommendations to stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (graduating in 2024).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated passion for technology and user experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience with product development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) through coursework or projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship experience in product management, software development, or a related technical role.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Excel).
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design principles.
  • Leadership experience in academic projects or extracurricular activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion.
