Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician II to join our dynamic team in Austin, Texas. This advanced role offers significant career progression opportunities for a motivated individual ready to take on greater responsibilities within our pharmacy operations. You will play a vital role in supporting pharmacists, managing inventory, and ensuring the accurate and efficient delivery of medications and healthcare services to our patients. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Provide advanced patient counseling on over-the-counter products and assist with medication inquiries.
- Assist with the preparation of compounded medications and sterile products as required.
- Mentor and train new or less experienced pharmacy technicians, contributing to team development.
- Resolve complex customer service issues and escalate critical concerns to the pharmacist.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Skills
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) from PTCB or NHA
- Current Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician registration
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and prescription processing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated dispensing systems
- Advanced knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations and medical terminology
- Prior experience in a lead or supervisory technician role
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field
