Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Natural Gas Analyst with a strong focus on business research to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for supporting our strategic initiatives by providing insightful analysis of natural gas market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for the energy sector. You will play a key role in data collection, analysis, and report generation, contributing directly to business strategy and decision-making within our natural gas operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on natural gas market dynamics, including supply, demand, pricing, and storage trends.
- Monitor and report on relevant regulatory developments, policy changes, and technological advancements affecting the natural gas industry.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed reports, presentations, and forecasts for internal stakeholders, supporting strategic planning and operational decisions.
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from various sources to identify key trends and provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with senior analysts and cross-functional teams to support specific business initiatives and projects.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of analytical models and tools.
- Stay informed about competitor activities and emerging industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 1-2 years of experience in data analysis, market research, or a similar analytical role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, data visualization).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise reports.
- Familiarity with natural gas market fundamentals or energy industry concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.

- Understanding of California's energy regulatory environment.
- Prior internship or work experience within the energy or utilities sector.
