Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Hotel Porter to join our vibrant team at Hilton Sheffield. As a Hotel Porter, you will be the face of our hotel, providing a warm welcome and efficient service to our guests. Your role is crucial in ensuring a seamless and pleasant experience from arrival to departure. This position is ideal for someone with excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and a desire to contribute to a luxury hospitality environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and provide efficient assistance with luggage handling.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, providing comprehensive information about hotel facilities and services.
  • Proactively assist guests with special requests, inquiries, and provide insightful local recommendations.
  • Manage guest deliveries and collections, ensuring timely and secure handling of items.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and presentable appearance of the hotel lobby and entrance areas.
  • Offer support to other hotel departments as needed, particularly the Front Desk and Concierge teams.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and security policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for guests and colleagues.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • A consistently friendly, professional, and welcoming demeanor.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry luggage and other items safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive ability to anticipate guest needs.
  • High level of reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain composure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Eligibility to work legally in the United Kingdom.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality-related role.
  • Familiarity with local attractions, events, and transportation options in Sheffield.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
