Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused Hotel Porter to join our dedicated team at Hilton Sheffield. As a Hotel Porter, you will be the first and last point of contact for many of our guests, playing a crucial role in ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. This is a direct hire position; we are not working with agencies. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests upon arrival and assist with luggage handling, ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, providing information about hotel facilities and room features.
  • Handle guest inquiries and requests efficiently and courteously, directing them to appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Assist with the delivery of mail, newspapers, and other items to guest rooms.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel lobby and entrance areas.
  • Provide information on local attractions, transportation, and dining options.
  • Assist with setting up meeting rooms or special events as required.
  • Ensure the security of guest belongings and hotel property.
  • Work collaboratively with front desk, concierge, and other hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry luggage (up to 25kg).
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role.
  • Knowledge of the local Sheffield area and attractions.
  • Valid UK driving license.
