Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular Unit team in New Port Richey. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced nurses and new graduates looking to specialize in cardiac care, as comprehensive ongoing training and mentorship will be provided. As a Telemetry RN, you will play a crucial role in monitoring patients with cardiac conditions, interpreting electrocardiograms (EKGs), and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms on telemetry equipment, promptly identifying and reporting changes to the medical team.
- Provide direct patient care to individuals in the cardiovascular unit, including assessments, medication administration, and wound care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical directives.
- Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, medications, and recovery processes.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, cardiologists, other nurses, and support staff to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate interventions as required.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities provided by the unit and hospital.
Required Skills
- Current Florida RN license or ability to obtain prior to start date.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms (training will be provided for those with limited experience).
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA (or obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Previous experience in a telemetry, step-down, or ICU setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
