Job Description
Are you looking for an opportunity to kickstart your career in facilities management? ISS Facility Services is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Day Porter to join our dedicated team in Harrogate. This is an excellent entry-level position where no prior experience is required – we provide full, comprehensive training to ensure your success. If you are reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and order, we want to hear from you. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our client sites are always presentable and functional, contributing to a positive experience for all visitors and occupants.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing various surfaces.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness in common areas, restrooms, and meeting rooms throughout the day.
- Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning emergencies.
- Replenish supplies in restrooms, kitchens, and other communal areas.
- Assist with waste management, including emptying bins and preparing waste for collection.
- Support site management with minor maintenance tasks and general upkeep as required.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or security concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with clients, visitors, and colleagues.
Required Skills
- No prior experience required – full training provided.
- A strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and environments.
- Basic understanding of health and safety principles (training will be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Previous experience in a customer service environment is a plus, but not essential.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment and products (training will be given).
