Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Front Desk Assistant to be the welcoming face and voice of our high school campus. The ideal candidate will possess an impeccable professional appearance, excellent communication skills, and a positive demeanor, embodying the values of Lusher Charter School. This role is crucial for creating a positive first impression for students, parents, staff, and visitors, and for ensuring the smooth operation of the front office.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome visitors, parents, and students with a professional and friendly attitude.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls efficiently and courteously.
- Manage the main reception area, ensuring it remains tidy and presentable.
- Assist with student sign-in/sign-out procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Distribute mail and packages to appropriate staff members.
- Provide general administrative support, including data entry, filing, and photocopying.
- Handle inquiries and provide information about school events, policies, and schedules.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing calendars as needed.
- Support school events and activities with logistical and administrative tasks.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in an administrative or front desk role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A consistently professional appearance and demeanor.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with school information systems (e.g., PowerSchool, Skyward).
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Vietnamese).
- Experience working with high school-aged students and their families.
