Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Handyman to join our team in Geelong. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational excellence and aesthetic appeal of our retail premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of small home repairs and general maintenance tasks, ensuring our store remains a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and staff. Immediate start is available for the right candidate who demonstrates reliability and a strong work ethic. This is an on-site position requiring hands-on work within our store.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
- Execute painting and plastering tasks as needed to maintain property appearance.
- Conduct routine inspections of the premises to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
- Assemble and repair fixtures, fittings, and furniture.
- Assist with general grounds maintenance and upkeep.
- Ensure all repair work is carried out safely and efficiently, adhering to company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with a variety of basic repair and maintenance tasks.
- Proficiency in using common hand and power tools safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade certification or vocational training.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience working in a retail or commercial environment.
