Job Description

This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for caring and a desire to contribute to patient well-being, even without prior experience. You will play a crucial role in assisting patients with their mobility needs, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety while gaining invaluable experience within a hospital setting. This pathway provides the foundational skills and support needed to progress into further nursing or healthcare assistant roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with safe and comfortable transfers, including moving from bed to chair, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Support patients with personal care and mobility, always maintaining their dignity and privacy.
- Follow all patient handling policies and procedures to ensure safety for both patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain a clean and organised patient environment, ensuring equipment is readily available and in good working order.
- Observe and report any changes in a patient's condition or behaviour to the nursing staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities provided as part of the Nursing Career Pathway.
