Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Google Compliance Officer with a strong regulatory focus to join our dynamic team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within the UK. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our company, and where applicable, our clients’ operations, adhere strictly to Google’s complex suite of policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements across various products and services. You will be the go-to expert for navigating the ever-evolving landscape of Google’s compliance frameworks, providing strategic advice, and implementing robust compliance programs. Your work will directly contribute to mitigating risks, maintaining trust, and fostering sustainable growth in a rapidly changing digital environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures aligned with Google's terms of service, advertising policies, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA relevant to Google platforms), and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of company practices and client projects to identify potential areas of non-compliance with Google's requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding Google compliance matters, providing expert guidance and training.
  • Monitor changes in Google's policies and relevant industry regulations, assessing their impact on business operations and recommending necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with legal, product development, marketing, and sales teams to integrate compliance considerations into new initiatives and existing processes.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, working proactively to prevent future incidents.
  • Prepare and present detailed compliance reports to senior management, highlighting risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory trends pertaining to Google's ecosystem.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in a compliance, legal, or regulatory role, specifically with a focus on digital platforms or technology companies.
  • In-depth understanding of Google's advertising policies (Google Ads), developer policies, data privacy policies, and other product-specific guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of global data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their application in the context of Google services.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable business policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCEP, CIPP/E, CDPO).
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) compliance frameworks.
  • Previous experience in a consulting environment or advising multiple clients on regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies for compliance program implementation.
