Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Mobile App Developer with a strong focus on iOS and Android platforms, and a particular interest in integrating with or understanding social media platforms like Pinterest. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our next-generation mobile applications, ensuring seamless user experiences and robust performance. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver innovative features and improvements, with a specific emphasis on visual content sharing and community interaction paradigms, similar to those found on Pinterest. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to products that impact millions of users globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable iOS and Android applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, backend) to define, design, and ship new features.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications, identifying and correcting bottlenecks.
- Implement and integrate with third-party APIs, specifically considering platforms focused on visual content and social sharing, such as Pinterest's API.
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of professional experience in mobile application development for iOS and Android.
- Proficiency in Swift/Objective-C for iOS and Kotlin/Java for Android development.
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and JSON.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices for mobile.
- Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in integrating with social media APIs or developing features akin to those found on visual content platforms like Pinterest.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with modern mobile architectures (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of photography, video processing, or augmented reality technologies.
- Active user or creator on visual social media platforms.
