Job Description
Are you a high-energy individual with an undeniable passion for dogs? Pawsitive Playtime Oxford is seeking a dedicated Dog Daycare Attendant to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone who loves being active, can handle various dog personalities, and is committed to ensuring the well-being and safety of all our furry guests. You will be responsible for supervising playgroups, engaging dogs in activities, maintaining a clean environment, and providing exceptional care. This is a physically demanding role that requires constant vigilance and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise dog playgroups of various sizes and temperaments, ensuring a safe and harmonious environment.
- Engage dogs in structured and unstructured play, providing mental and physical stimulation.
- Monitor dog behavior, body language, and health, reporting any concerns to management immediately.
- Clean and sanitize daycare facilities, including play areas, kennels, and outdoor spaces, regularly throughout the day.
- Feed and administer medication to dogs as instructed by pet parents and management.
- Provide basic grooming tasks such as brushing and wiping paws.
- Manage dog arrivals and departures, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate record-keeping.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's day and any notable observations.
- Handle dog incidents professionally and calmly, following established protocols.
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards dogs, colleagues, and customers.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated love for dogs and a natural understanding of canine behavior.
- High energy level and ability to remain active for extended periods.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for an entire shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a dog daycare, kennel, or veterinary setting.
- Knowledge of positive reinforcement training methods.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification for animals.
- Experience with various dog breeds and sizes.
