Job Description
Join our dynamic delivery team at DFS as a Furniture Delivery Porter (Mate). This role is vital to our operations, working alongside an experienced driver to transport and install furniture in customers’ homes. You will be responsible for safe handling, careful transportation, and providing a friendly, professional service. This physically demanding role requires heavy lifting, excellent teamwork, and a customer-focused approach. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the driver with loading and unloading furniture items from the delivery vehicle.
- Safely transport furniture into customers' homes, navigating various entryways and spaces.
- Assemble and position furniture as required by the customer, ensuring satisfaction.
- Handle all furniture with extreme care to prevent damage during transit and installation.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a polite and professional demeanor at all times.
- Assist with route planning and navigation as needed.
- Complete all necessary delivery paperwork and obtain customer signatures.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and tidy delivery vehicle and work area.
