Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Fish Processors to join our thriving team in Derry. As a Fish Processor, you will play a crucial role in preparing our premium seafood products for market. This entry-level position involves various tasks within our processing plant, ensuring the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and efficiency. You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment, contributing directly to the production of food enjoyed by consumers across the nation. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in the food manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and prepare raw fish products for processing.
- Perform tasks such as gutting, scaling, filleting, and portioning fish using manual tools and machinery.
- Operate processing equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all operational guidelines.
- Monitor product quality and identify any defects or inconsistencies.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations (HACCP standards) within the facility.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area throughout the shift.
- Assist with packing and labelling finished products.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cold, fast-paced factory environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene principles (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 1 or 2).
- Experience working with fish or seafood products.
