Job Description

Join the Good Neighbour Fence team as a Fencing Installer Laborer! We are looking for dedicated individuals to assist in the installation of various types of fences for both rural and residential properties in and around Kanata, Ontario. This role involves physical labor, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and contributing to the successful completion of fencing projects. No prior experience is necessary; we provide on-the-job training for motivated candidates who are eager to learn and grow with us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead installers with all aspects of fence installation (digging post holes, mixing concrete, cutting materials, assembling fence sections).
  • Load and unload materials and equipment at job sites.
  • Prepare job sites by clearing debris and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to project timelines.
  • Ensure quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in general labor, construction, or landscaping.
  • Experience operating small construction equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic construction safety practices.
