Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Loss Prevention Associate to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. This critical role is responsible for safeguarding company assets, preventing theft and fraud, and ensuring a secure environment across our retail and warehouse operations. The Loss Prevention Associate will implement security protocols, conduct surveillance, investigate incidents, and collaborate with management to minimize loss and optimize operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive surveillance and monitoring of retail spaces and warehouse facilities to detect and deter theft, fraud, and other security breaches.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations, following established protocols.
- Perform internal and external investigations into incidents of loss, documenting findings thoroughly and accurately.
- Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement, store management, and other internal departments on security-related matters.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to loss prevention and security.
- Prepare detailed incident reports, witness statements, and documentation for all security-related events.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on loss prevention best practices and security awareness.
- Conduct regular security audits and inspections to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information and investigations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (1+ year) in security, loss prevention, or a related field, preferably in a retail or warehouse environment.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and interactions.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in using security equipment (CCTV, alarm systems) and basic computer applications.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or other relevant security certifications.
- Previous experience with FedEx or in the transportation/logistics industry.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws pertaining to retail security and investigations.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
