Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician for General Repair to join our dynamic team in Ventura, CA. This stable, full-time role is essential for ensuring the safe, functional, and efficient operation of our facilities. You will perform a variety of general maintenance and repair tasks, contributing directly to our operational excellence and providing a supportive environment for our employees. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and general repairs on facility infrastructure, including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and structural components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment longevity and operational reliability, following established schedules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operations.
- Execute minor carpentry, painting, and patching tasks as needed to maintain facility appearance and integrity.
- Assist with the assembly, disassembly, and installation of furniture, fixtures, and various types of equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used, utilizing internal systems.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, facility staff, and external contractors as required for larger projects or specialized repairs.
- Respond to urgent maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general building maintenance or a closely related field.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems (e.g., lighting, outlets), plumbing (e.g., leaks, clogs), and HVAC systems (e.g., filter changes, basic diagnostics).
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, stand, walk, and work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Vocational training or certification in a relevant trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC, general maintenance).
- Experience with building management systems (BMS) or computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) software.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Familiarity with local building codes and safety standards.
