Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and resilient individuals to join our dedicated team as Emergency Call Handlers, specializing in both ambulance and fire emergency calls. This demanding yet incredibly rewarding role places you at the forefront of emergency response, where every second counts. You will be the first point of contact for individuals facing critical situations, requiring a calm demeanor, quick thinking, and exceptional communication skills to gather vital information, provide life-saving instructions, and dispatch appropriate resources. This is a shift-work position designed for those who thrive under pressure and are committed to public safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer 999 emergency calls promptly and professionally, assessing the nature and severity of incidents.
- Gather critical information accurately and efficiently, often from distressed callers.
- Provide clear, concise, and life-saving pre-arrival instructions to callers (e.g., CPR, choking advice).
- Prioritize calls based on established protocols and dispatch appropriate ambulance or fire resources.
- Maintain accurate records of all calls and actions taken in the computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.
- Liaise with emergency services personnel and other agencies as required.
- Remain calm and empathetic in high-pressure, emotionally charged situations.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and data protection policies.

Preferred Qualifications
