Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and analytical Credit Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team in Salford. In this role, you will be instrumental in assessing, monitoring, and mitigating credit risks across various portfolios. You will work with complex financial data, develop robust risk models, and provide critical insights to support lending decisions and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth credit risk analysis for new and existing clients, including financial statement analysis, industry reviews, and business model evaluations.
- Develop, validate, and maintain credit risk models and methodologies to quantify and manage risk exposures.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risk trends, and report findings to senior management.
- Prepare comprehensive credit reports and recommendations for credit committees.
- Collaborate with sales, product, and legal teams to structure transactions and mitigate risk effectively.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, external regulations, and best practices.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new risk management tools and systems.
- Contribute to stress testing exercises and capital adequacy assessments.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit risk analysis within financial services.
- Strong understanding of financial products, markets, and regulatory environments (e.g., Basel III).
- Proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, FRM).
- Experience with credit risk software platforms.
- Knowledge of stress testing methodologies and implementation.
- Experience with large datasets and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
