Job Description
As a Compliance Specialist focusing on regulatory matters within our EA Games division, you will play a critical role in ensuring our operations, products, and services adhere to an evolving landscape of global regulations. This stable position requires a proactive approach to identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance risks, with a particular emphasis on data privacy, consumer protection, intellectual property, and platform policies relevant to the interactive entertainment industry. You will collaborate closely with legal, product, and engineering teams to embed compliance by design and maintain a robust regulatory framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret new and evolving global regulations pertinent to the video game industry, including data privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), consumer protection, and platform terms of service.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments for new game features, services, and business initiatives, providing actionable recommendations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to respond to regulatory inquiries and investigations.
- Facilitate internal audits and support external audit processes related to regulatory compliance.
- Advise product development teams on compliance requirements throughout the game lifecycle, from concept to launch and live operations.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and documentation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a compliance or legal role, preferably within the technology, media, or gaming industry.
- Strong understanding of global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and consumer protection laws.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business actions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams.
- Proficiency with compliance management software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, or a related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CCEP, CIPP) preferred.
- Experience with international regulatory frameworks relevant to online services and digital content.
- Familiarity with intellectual property rights and digital rights management.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
- Passion for video games and an understanding of the gaming ecosystem.
