Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in bringing complex energy projects to life. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful testing, verification, and handover of various energy systems and equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans and procedures for electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Perform pre-commissioning checks, functional tests, and integrated system testing to ensure operational readiness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and equipment malfunctions during the commissioning phase.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and project management teams for seamless project delivery.
- Prepare detailed commissioning reports, punch lists, and handover documentation.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, project specifications, and quality standards.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel post-commissioning.
- Travel frequently to various project sites, often in remote locations, to oversee commissioning activities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commissioning, field service, or project engineering within the energy, power generation, or industrial automation sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, control logic, instrumentation, and P&IDs.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system architecture.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to travel extensively to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility in Canada.
- Experience with renewable energy projects (e.g., wind, solar, battery storage systems).
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and diagnostic tools.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience working in a multicultural and international project environment.
