Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically fit Stairwell Sweeper & Mopper to join our team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of commercial building stairwells, ensuring a presentable and hygienic environment for all occupants and visitors. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of performing repetitive physical tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep and mop all stairwells in designated commercial buildings using appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment.
- Dust and wipe down railings, ledges, and other surfaces within stairwell areas.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles in stairwells.
- Report any damage, maintenance issues, or safety hazards observed in stairwells to management.
- Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines for chemical handling and equipment operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work cart and storage area.
- Adhere to a strict schedule to ensure all assigned stairwells are cleaned thoroughly and on time.
- Perform other cleaning duties as assigned to support overall building maintenance.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including sweeping, mopping, lifting, and bending.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training provided).
