Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Aviation Psychology & Human Factors Intern to join our dedicated safety and operations team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in applying psychological principles and human factors methodologies to real-world aviation challenges. The intern will support projects focused on crew resource management, human-machine interface design, error management, and incident investigation. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates passionate about contributing to aviation safety and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection and analysis of human factors data from various operational sources.
- Support ongoing research projects related to pilot workload, fatigue management, and decision-making.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of training materials incorporating human factors principles.
- Participate in incident investigations and safety risk assessments, focusing on human error causation.
- Help prepare reports and presentations summarizing human factors findings and recommendations.
- Conduct literature reviews on current trends and best practices in aviation psychology and human factors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including pilots, cabin crew, engineers, and ground staff.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Psychology, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated interest in aviation and human factors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R).
- Previous experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
- Familiarity with aviation safety management systems (SMS) concepts.
- Understanding of human-machine interaction principles.
