Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our dynamic team in Chicago. This role is crucial for transforming raw data into meaningful insights that drive strategic business decisions for our diverse client base. As a BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data warehouses. This position offers sponsorship for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data models.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and data solutions.
- Develop and optimize ETL processes to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Perform data analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing BI systems.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reporting platforms.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on BI tools and reports.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and data analytics.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and querying.
- Experience with at least one major BI tool (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, QlikView).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., Kimball methodology, star schema).
- Experience with ETL processes and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
- Experience with large-scale data environments and performance tuning.
- Certifications in relevant BI tools or cloud platforms.
