Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate AR/VR Software Engineer to join our innovative team in Buffalo, NY. In this role, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge AR/VR platforms, applications, and tools. You will work on various aspects of our immersive experiences, from core system architecture to user-facing features, contributing to a world-class AR/VR ecosystem. This position offers sponsorship for qualified international candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize software for AR/VR systems, including core frameworks, rendering pipelines, and interaction models.
- Implement and iterate on new features, experiences, and tools for AR/VR applications and platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, designers, and researchers to integrate new technologies and improve user experience.
- Debug and resolve complex technical issues across various layers of the AR/VR software stack.
- Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AR/VR technology and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in C++ and/or C#.
- Experience with game engines like Unity3D or Unreal Engine.
- Familiarity with AR/VR SDKs (e.g., Oculus SDK, OpenXR, ARCore, ARKit).
- Solid understanding of 3D graphics, linear algebra, and computer vision fundamentals.
- Experience with real-time rendering, shaders, and performance optimization.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience with software development for consumer electronics or embedded systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with mobile development (iOS/Android) and platform-specific optimizations.
- Knowledge of haptics, audio processing, or spatial audio for immersive experiences.
- Experience with distributed systems or cloud services relevant to AR/VR.
- Prior experience working on shipped AR/VR products or research projects.
- Understanding of user interaction design principles for immersive environments.
