Job Description
Are you passionate about user experience, artificial intelligence, and cutting-edge design? Magic Leap is seeking an enthusiastic and driven AI Product Design Intern to join our innovative team in New Port Richey. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced designers and engineers, contributing to the user experience of our next-generation AI-powered products. You will gain hands-on experience in various stages of the product design lifecycle, from user research and ideation to prototyping and testing, all with a strong mentorship focus to guide your professional growth in the exciting field of AI product design.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting user research, competitive analysis, and usability testing to inform design decisions for AI products.
- Contribute to the creation of wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to visualize design concepts.
- Collaborate with senior UX/UI designers and AI product managers to translate complex AI functionalities into intuitive user interfaces.
- Participate in design critiques and contribute fresh perspectives to solve challenging design problems.
- Learn and apply best practices in human-centered design, specifically for AI-driven applications.
- Document design specifications and prepare assets for development hand-off.
Required Skills
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of UX/UI principles and design thinking methodologies.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Strong interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and emerging technologies.
- Ability to articulate design ideas and concepts effectively.
- A portfolio showcasing academic or personal design projects (even if unfinished).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship experience in UX/UI design or product design.
- Experience with prototyping tools like Principle, ProtoPie, or After Effects.
- Familiarity with agile development processes.
- Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus but not required.
- Experience with designing for AR/VR or spatial computing platforms.
