Job Description

Are you looking to kickstart your career in a dynamic and supportive environment? Babcock International is seeking a motivated Apprentice Administrator to join our team in Plymouth. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification. You will support various administrative functions, ensuring the smooth operation of our busy departments. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to various departments and teams.
  • Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments effectively.
  • Prepare and format documents, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, post, and phone calls.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems (both digital and physical).
  • Assist with data entry, spreadsheet management, and basic financial administration tasks.
  • Order and manage office supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Support event organisation and logistics as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and process adherence.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.

Required Skills

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude to learning.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GCSEs at Grade 4 (C) or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or office environment (even voluntary).
  • An understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles.
