Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Therapy Aide to join our team in Ayr. In this essential support role, you will work closely with our physical therapists to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment for patient care. Your primary duties will include maintaining the cleanliness of our therapy equipment, preparing treatment areas, and assisting patients under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to contribute to patient well-being in a supportive healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize all physical therapy equipment after each use.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist patients with transfers, mobility, and exercises as directed by a physical therapist.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and alert staff when reordering is necessary.
- Ensure a safe and organized therapy environment by promptly addressing hazards.
- Provide administrative support such as scheduling, answering phones, and filing, as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and infection control policies.
- Offer compassionate support and a positive attitude to patients throughout their visits.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions meticulously.
- Strong attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and order.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physical stamina to assist patients and move equipment.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation protocols.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service environment.
- First Aid and/or CPR certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
