Job Description

Join Meta’s dynamic Public Policy team as a Paid Summer Remote Program Policy Intern. This program is designed for students passionate about the intersection of technology, society, and policy, offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of the world’s leading technology companies. You will contribute to critical policy work, engage with complex issues, and develop a deeper understanding of how Meta navigates the evolving regulatory landscape. This internship will provide exposure to various policy areas, including privacy, safety, economic opportunity, and new technologies like the metaverse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on technology policy issues across various jurisdictions.
  • Prepare briefings, presentations, and memos for internal stakeholders on emerging policy trends.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to Meta's products and services.
  • Assist in drafting policy positions, public comments, and engagement strategies.
  • Support cross-functional teams with policy expertise and insights.
  • Participate in internal policy meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Public Policy, Law, International Relations, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated interest in technology policy, digital rights, or internet governance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (academic or professional) in policy research, advocacy, or government affairs.
  • Familiarity with the policy landscape concerning social media, AI, VR/AR, or data privacy.
  • Experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
