Job Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Compliance Transcriptionist with a strong regulatory focus to join our remote team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing sensitive audio recordings related to financial transactions, client interactions, internal meetings, and regulatory compliance discussions. Your work will directly support our legal and compliance departments, ensuring all recorded communications are meticulously documented for audit, review, and regulatory reporting purposes. This position requires exceptional listening skills, a thorough understanding of financial terminology, and a deep appreciation for data accuracy and confidentiality. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe audio recordings of various lengths and complexities, ensuring high accuracy in content, spelling, and grammar.
  • Focus on regulatory compliance-related discussions, identifying key terms, financial product names, and legal references.
  • Review and edit own transcriptions for completeness, clarity, and adherence to company style guides and regulatory standards.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Organize and manage transcription workflows, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to clarify ambiguities in recordings or transcription requirements.
  • Maintain strict adherence to data security protocols and confidentiality agreements.
  • Utilize transcription software and tools efficiently to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of professional transcription experience, preferably in a financial or legal environment.
  • Proven ability to transcribe complex audio accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Strong understanding of financial industry terminology and regulatory compliance concepts.
  • Proficiency with transcription software and office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Exceptional listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Legal Studies, Business Administration).
  • Certification in transcription or legal/medical transcription.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations such as Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, or FINRA rules.
  • Experience with compliance monitoring systems or e-discovery platforms.
