Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Music Metadata Specialist with a focus on Digital Archives to join our dynamic team. This is a 100% remote position. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of our extensive music metadata, which underpins our digital assets and distribution. You will work with various internal systems and external partners, contributing to the integrity of our digital music archive and enhancing discoverability for our catalog. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive metadata for new and existing music releases.
- Ensure adherence to internal and industry-standard metadata guidelines (e.g., DDEX, ONIX).
- Perform quality control checks on metadata across various platforms and databases.
- Research and resolve metadata discrepancies and inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with A&R, production, legal, and digital distribution teams to gather necessary information.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of metadata workflows and systems.
- Assist in the migration and organization of legacy metadata into new digital archive systems.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in music metadata standards and best practices.
- Strong understanding of digital archiving principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with database management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Music Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with specific metadata management software or digital asset management (DAM) systems.
- Knowledge of various music genres and artist cataloging.
- Familiarity with intellectual property rights related to music.
